About The Archivist

Hey there, my name is Rae (she/they)! I'm a college student currently majoring in illustration and animation. My main interest in art is horror and animation, and more specifically adult animation. I love things like Invincible, Arcane, Metal Gear Solid, Pluto, found footage movies (horror movies in general), internet horror, collecting, halloween, and my favorite movie of all, 9! Despite my horrible anxiety, I love going to conventions and socializing with new people. I listen to and dress very goth, which is the inspiration for my stitchpunk sona at the top of the page, 13! I aspire one day to make my own adult animated tv show, and I take a lot of inspiration from 9. If my vibe is of any interest to you, please take a look at my Instagram and Twitter where you can find my artwork and other silly ramblings.

Ok, I know this is the about me page, but enough about me, and onto why I've created this website. As stated on the frontpage, I've been a huge 9 fan ever since I watched it as a young child. As I grew up I started to appreciate it more and more. Animation is not as respected as it should be. Many still think animation is a "kids only" thing, and don't recognize the endless possibilities of the medium. 9, to me, encapsulates how creative animation can be. It has such a unique aesthetic, and I've really never seen anything else like it. And, it's PG-13!!! I know not technically a strictly adult film, but it's a more mature targeted movie given the subject matter and events of the film. I want to use this site to preserve everything 9, because I think it's a very special film, and also because it's VERY underrated. There still is an active fanbase, but it's a small, niche community. Because of this, things easily become lost. While I have an interest in lost media, I'd like to prevent it as much as I can! I'm always on the lookout for new 9 merchandise, and just this year I've found so many items I've never seen before in my years of collecting. Some of these items are not documented anywhere else on the internet, and I'd love to change that!

This website would not be possible without my best friend who inspired me to make it. Please go check out his own neocities, The Digital Dove, below!
